The towering spire of Konstanz Minster dominated the skyline, a poignant reminder of the city’s rich historical significance. In fact, one fascinating historical fact that intrigued me was Konstanz’s role in hosting the Council of Constance in the early 15th century. This ecumenical council, held between 1414 and 1418, aimed to resolve the Papal Schism and reform the Catholic Church. It was here that Pope Martin V was elected, effectively ending the schism and restoring unity within the church.
